We are now well into the final quarter of 2017. It is time to ask is your business on point to achieve the goals and objectives for your business this year?
Here are some questions to ask to assess how you can continue to strive in the final quarter and assess business and marketing activities to date.
What has worked to get you in front of more of your ideal clients and customers? What has not worked for you this year? What could have gone better? What have you achieved and what helped you to achieve? What can you change for consistent progress in 2018 ? What has been your return on investment? What can be built on? What lessons have been learned in 2017 ?
What timely changes can you make and what action can you take in the final quarter to maximise the last months of the year to end on a strong finish and end of year 2017?
- Review your pricing strategy.
- Review your marketing activity for Q4.
- Communicate with your existing customers and clients.
- Consider what holes are eroding profit for your business.
- Use these months to be prepped for 2018.
- Start planning for 2018 now.
I cannot emphasise enough the importance of two steps here; review and plan.
The key piece is to start your plan for next year now. I recommend that you schedule an annual planning meeting to plan out the upcoming year. Keep it simple, keep it focused and get the priorities and path of action squared away.
Ask the following: What are your revenue and profit targets for 2018? What new initiatives are you planning for 2018?
What are the steps and activity you need to take to get to where you want the business to be in 2018?
Examples of activity that can be included in any plan for the year ahead:
- Increase revenue from a specific service/product or target market by X%
- Re-do the website to generate more qualified leads
- Create the framework for next year’s plan
- Set Monthly Sales Goals
- Who do you need to hire and when? Plan to start recruiting in time to have the support you need in place
- Make a Profit Plan
So, there it is, some simple tips and points to consider as you come into the final quarter of 2017 and prepare for 2018 in as proficient a manner as possible. It is all simply about review, planning and getting ready with strategy. I have been working with clients since late August planning for 2018.
